Overview:
Captiva Series - The Penn Captiva Series of Spinning and Live Liner reels contain features and components found on reels often twice the price. Anglers will be amazed at its smoothness and performance due to the many ball bearings and balanced rotor. There are 11 ball bearings on all but the smallest Captiva, and 10 ball bearings on the Captiva Live Liner reels. (2004 Penn Catalog)

The 500 version was not among the new releases. The Live Liners were discontinued entirely. CLLwas itself discontinued a short time later.
