OLDER DOWNRIGGER NOTES:
On some older downriggers, there might be an issue with the newer sleeves and the point on the housing stud where the pin goes through the sleeve to hold it in place. The older sleeves appear to have had a slightly offset hole (See second image above with details).
With the newer sleeves, the pin hole is straighter, having an even crescent cut into each side of the flat edge on the sleeve. On some housing studs, that lack of offset means the stud intrudes a little on the hole, not allowing the pin to slide cleanly through. If you encounter this, you can use a bench grinder and grind one side of the pin down a bit, to allow it to slip past the obstruction.
WE ONLY HAVE THE NEWER SLEEVE IN STOCK
So grinding down the pin is the option if you run into the seating issue on your older Penn downrigger.
