Can be cleaned with Brasso or similar brass cleaning product if desired, but spotting is generally only cosmetic.
NOTES
On some older 200M reels: It has come to our attention that there was an older run of 200M reels that have the 98-60 gear sleeve on them instead of the 98-155 gear sleeve. Check the diameter of the ratchet from point to point:
98-60 = 7.5/10 in.
98-155 = 6/10 in.
At some time in the past the spindle on the bridge had a smaller diameter (0.125 or 1/8") and the sleeves had smaller holes.
Older / Early reel notes
Older 140 and 155 reels from the 1940s-1960s? (change date unknown) had a felt washer inset under the 98-155 Sleeve on the bridge. This older sleeve had a wider indentation than the modern sleeve does, to allow for the washer. (see product photos)We do NOT have a part number for that felt washer.

If you do not find what you are looking for do a Google search with Mystic Reel Parts in the search with your model. I have a Penn 285 and 9 and it took me to the exact page for both. I luckily found MysticParts via a Google search. Their website is comprehensive and I was at a loss on what I needed. Fortunately the “contact us” option was user friendly.
