This is the NEWER style which has a slot for the c-clip on the dog post. It is part of a design change made by Penn, so check your housing to see if you are replacing the older (1-4500) or newer housing.
To replace 1N-4500 with 1P-4500 housing you need to also use 4N--4400 dog, 10N--4400 ratchet, 230N--5500 spring, 69B--4400 c-clip.
